The Mechanisms of Heavy Metal Uptake and Accumulation in Plants

Abstract: Phytoremediation is a technology that involves the use of plants to remove heavy metals from contaminated soil. This approach is based on the ability of plants to absorb contaminants from the soil and translocate them to their shoots. Plant uptake of a metal depends primarily on the free metal ion activity. However, some synthetic chelates have been shown to induce the uptake of metals by plants. Vacuolar compartmentalization appears to be the source of tolerance of metal-accumulating plants. In cells, proteins such as metallothioneins and phytochelatins, organic acids and amino acids also play an important role in metal ion storage and detoxification. Physiological and molecular aspects of heavy metal transport in plants are also discussed in this paper.
Distribution of NPY, SP, CGRP in rat thyroid and change under condition of acute experimental hyperthyroidism(In English)

Abstract: Previous work has shown that peptidergic nerve fibers of the thyroid gland contain vasoactive intestinal polypeptide (VIP), substance P (SP) and neuropeptide Y (NPY). They contact vessel walls and epithelial cells of follicles and regulate the activity of the smooth muscle and epithelium of the follicle. It is generally accepted that the hypothalamic- pituitary -thyroid axis regulates the activity of thyroid follicles. The action of NPY, CGRP and SP, especially in hyperthyroidism, is poorly understood. The acute hyperthyroidism rat model was induced by injection of thyroxine (T4). NPY, CGRP, SP were tested by RIA. The location and distribution of NPY, CGRP and SP were studied using immunohistochemistry. NPY positive nerve fibers surrounded the small blood vessels, and their terminals contacted endothelial cells of blood vessels. Some NPY and SP positive nerve fibers were localized in connective tissue between follicles, and their terminals contacted follicular epithelial cells. No CGRP positive nerve fibers were detected. CGRP positive cells were distributed within the epithelium of follicles or adjacent to follicles. Radioimmunoassay revealed a higher level of NPY and SP in experimental rats following T4 application as compared with control rats, but the level of CGRP was lower than in controls. In hyperthyroidism, increased vasoconstriction caused by increasing of NPY overcomes the weakened vasodilation effects of CGRP decreasing to decrease blood flow and controls T4 into blood circulation. This balance may be considered as one of homeostasis mechanism under process of pathology [Acta Zoologica Sinica 54(5): 830–835, 2008].
Assembly and Release Behavior of Allopurinol Intercalated Zn/Al―NO3―LDH Composite

Abstract: Allopurinot intercalated Zn/Al―NO3―LDH composite materials were prepared by coprecipitation and ion exchange methods. It was found by XRD, FT―IR and TG―DTA analysis that allopurinol were intercalated into the LDH layers and formed a supramolecular structure in the reaction with laminate. The structure could improved allopurinol acid resistance and thermal stability. The allopurinol intercalated LDH preparaed by coprecipitation method has an excellent sustained―release performance. It was supposed that the intercalation capacity of organic molecules was increased by a Sol―Gel intermediate which was easy for the objects to be ion―exchanged and embedded during the organic molecules intercalating into the LDH layers by coprecipitation method.
Hysteretic Behavior of Steel Column Strengthened With CFRP in Thermal Environment

Abstract: This paper is concerned with analysis for the strengthening effect of carbon fiber-reinforced polymer (CFRP) on steel columns under cyclic lateral loading in thermal environment. Based on the finite element theory of thermo-elastic problem and steel structure stability theory, the hysteretic behavior of axial compression steel columns was studied by using Ansys software. The main variables investigated are: cyclic lateral loading, temperature, axial compression ratio and ductility. The results show that the CFRP wraps can improve the ultimate cyclic lateral loading and ductility of steel columns prominently in thermal environment which benefit to the anti-seismic capacity of steel structure. The effect of axial compression ratio on ultimate cyclic lateral loading is very obvious, more enhancements achieved with the axial compression ratio increased. While effect of temperature on ultimate cyclic lateral loading is not very obvious below 300℃.

Abstract: The particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm is easy to trapped into local extremum, and its convergence speed is lower and the precision is worse in the late evolution. Furthermore, the parameter selection can affect the algorithm. Aimed at these disadvantages of PSO,based on using the crossbreeding concept in the genetic algorithm for reference, the new algorithm by introducing dynamical parameters in the evolution of the speed equation is proposed. The convergence speed and the convergence rate were improved. The new method arc tested by function Levy No. 5 shows that the convergence speed and the average convergence rate was increased.

Abstract: 摘要: 研究了一类带脉冲效应的拟线性双曲系统(强)振动性质。利用新的处理拟线性扩散项的技巧及脉冲微分不等式的某些结果, 获得了该类系统在第二类边界条件下所有解(强)振动的若干充分判据, 结论充分地表明系统振动是由脉冲效应引起的。
Abstract: The (strong) oscillation properties of a class of quasilinear hyperbolic systems with impulse effect are investigated. By using a new technique of treating quasilinear diffusion term and some results of impulsive differential inequality, some sufficient criteria are obtained for the (strong) oscillation of all solutions of such systems under second boundary condition. The results fully indicate that the system oscillation are caused by impulse effect

Minimax Probability Machine with Genetic Feature Optimized for Intrusion Detection

Abstract: This research presents an intrusion detection method for network datasets using Minimax Probability Machines (MPM) and genetic algorithm. The minimax probability machines can achieve the comparative performance with the Support Vector Machine (SVM). To do more accurate data classification and decrease the training time of classifier, we present a genetic feature optimized method for minimax probability machines. Genetic algorithm is used to optimize the feature so as to generate newly features to boost minimax probability machines do more accurate classification and need less training time. A new classifier model based on minimax probability machines with genetic feature optimized is proposed and is applied to intrusion detection in this paper. The experimental results show that the classification method with genetic feature optimized has better performance than the traditional learning method.

Abstract: During the application of BP neural network, some techniques in statistics are adopted. The principal component analysis is used as the preprocessing to select and optimize the sample set. The regression and correlation analysis is used as one of the postprocessing to analyze the result of training; the confidence interval analysis is used as the other postprocessing to predict the confidence bounds of output. All of these processes can be a necessary supplement of the research on the application of BP neural network.
